Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare to comply with scheduled maintenance program process
- Hazards are identified, risks assessed and control measures implemented
- Maintenance schedule and process compliance requirements are confirmed with relevant person/s and work appropriately sequenced in accordance with workplace procedures
- Relevant person/s is consulted to ensure the work is coordinated effectively with others involved on the work site
- Location of equipment to be maintained is determined from maintenance schedule and/or system specifications and diagrams
- Resources required to conduct the maintenance are obtained in accordance with workplace procedures and checked against job requirements
- Tools, equipment and testing devices required to conduct the maintenance are obtained and checked for correct operation and safety in accordance with workplace procedures
- Comply with scheduled maintenance program process
- Inspecting, testing or measuring on live and operating systems is conducted in accordance with WHS/OHS requirements and workplace procedures
- Circuits/machines/plant are checked and isolated as required in accordance with WHS/OHS requirements and workplace procedures
- Apparatus/components to be maintained are inspected and evaluated for compliance in accordance with maintenance schedule and operational and WHS/OHS requirements and workplace procedures
- Non-compliant apparatus/components are documented and arrangements made for rectification in accordance with workplace procedures
- Methods for dealing with unplanned situations are discussed with relevant person/s and documented in accordance with workplace procedures
- Quality checks of the maintenance are undertaken in accordance with workplace procedures
- Maintenance process compliance is carried out efficiently without waste of materials or damage to apparatus, the surrounding environment or services using sustainable energy practices
- Complete maintenance compliance process
- Work site and equipment are cleaned and made safe in accordance with WHS/OHS requirements and workplace procedures
- Final checks are made to verify that maintenance complies with WHS/OHS requirements, manufacturer specifications and workplace procedures
- Maintenance completion is documented and relevant person/s notified in accordance with workplace procedures
